Refund Policy

1. Introduction
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how refunds, cancellations, and return requests are handled for services, digital products, and membership plans provided by JL Design Studios.
By purchasing or subscribing to our offerings, you agree to the terms outlined below.
2. Services (Design, Creative Work, Custom Projects)
2.1 Deposits
All deposits paid to start a project are non-refundable, as they secure your booking and cover initial project preparation, planning, and resource allocation.
2.2 Project-Based Refunds
Refunds for ongoing or completed creative work are handled case-by-case and are only considered if:

the work has not yet begun, or
-
we are unable to deliver the agreed-upon service.
Once conceptual work, drafts, design labour, or production hours have been completed, refunds are not available.
2.3 Cancellations
If you cancel a project after work has begun, you remain responsible for payment of work completed up to the cancellation date.
You will receive an itemised invoice reflecting this.
3. Digital Products (Templates, Design Assets, Downloads, Tutorials)
3.1 All Digital Products Are Final Sale
Because digital products cannot be “returned,” all downloads, templates, assets, and tutorials are non-refundable once delivered or accessed - even if they have not yet been downloaded.
3.2 Technical Issues
If a file is corrupted, inaccessible, or incorrectly delivered, we will:

replace or reissue the product at no additional cost, or
-
provide an alternative file where available.
4. Memberships & Subscription Plans (Free or Paid)
4.1 Billing
All paid membership plans operate on recurring billing unless otherwise stated.
4.2 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
Your access will remain active until the end of the current billing cycle.
We do not offer prorated refunds for partially used subscription periods.
4.3 Refunds for Subscriptions
Refunds will only be considered if:

a duplicate payment was made in error, or
-
a technical issue prevented access to paid features and we cannot resolve it.
Refunds are not provided for:

change of mind,
-
forgetting to cancel before billing,
-
unused content.
5. Compliance With South African Law
This Policy is designed in alignment with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and other applicable laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Where the CPA provides mandatory consumer rights, those will apply.
